I use it more out of necessity than anything. I hate that it puts permanent links on the screen advertising their additional cost services for credit cards and other things.
I use it on a laptop, and I’m working with limited real estate as it is. I paid for the software and I should be able to remove that crap if I want to, but I can’t find a way.
I do have to say that this version is an improvement over the that I had previously. It’s cleaner and a tiny bit better organized. It has an easily available option on the left side to view open windows, which was kind of hidden in my previous version. I also reluctantly admit that for all of it’s user interface faults, it does a fantastic job with the accounting. I’ve been using this version for about 4 months, and I only upgraded because Intuit payroll services wasn’t going to support my version.
I hate, hate, hate that I was forced to upgrade and I don’t agree with Intuit’s pay per service being shoved down my throat at every turn for software that I not only pay for, but pay a yearly fee to use payroll with. For those of you that have been forced to update your Quickbooks I’m sure you are about as thrilled as me to have purchased this product. Qb was far better in my eyes as they’ve added a bunch of useless features in and taken away some good ones that used to save me a lot of time. All in all I can only say that my company is currently shopping for new accounting software.
Way to complex for a very small company like ny self. Espicly If you have months worth of data to catch up on. The software is greasy, bank statement transfer into it flawlessly it’s just way too time consuming for a one man operation. I may be better off with QB online. I upgraded to the Good price. Was incompatible with my computer. Had to return it.
My fault! Be careful when you purchase software, especially in a box. You’ll have to pay to return it! This is my 3rd version of Quickbooks and finally, one that is aesthetically pleasing and functional. With that said, I am still a Quickbooks rookie. I have had challenges in the past just trying to find the right buttons to click buried in a myriad of menus. This version has definitely made it easier to get around the program quickly and for me, is much more intuitive.
I think this is a definite improvement and have only just downloaded it. Love the new features and I believe is well worth the money for a novice like me. Getting it downloaded and as an update from my version wasa breeze. Everything is pretty intuitive from the previous version. However, the reports function frequently crashes the program. One person found this helpful. Seems the same as which we were forced to replace in order to keep payroll service.
Straight up extortion imo. The new websy for lack of a better word interface changes button placements for no real reason that I can see. Pages within the program do not scale properly, meaning when you change the quickbooks window size it will cut off the right side such as where the amounts are in a check register. Previous users will also not like the new left side “open windows” options and I cannot start this version without it automatically opening the purchase orders and vendor center screens for some unknown reason.
Not the worst iteration I have seen since but would not have gotten it if we didn’t have too. Reliable, fair price, buy it if you need it…. Get fast answers from reviewers.

How do I install this on a new computer without the CD installer? I did try installing updated QB versions but it says that my license number and product key are invalid though the information I put it came from the Product Information page of the software.

At this time, Intuit has download links available for the most recent years of the program. In this case, is an old and unsupported version of the program.
This means that you’d need the install disc in order to install it on your new computer. You may also be able to pull the install files from your old computer, put them on a USB stick, and then use them to install on the new computer, but that’s not guaranteed to work.
It’s also not guaranteed whether the program will update to its highest release. It’s great that you’ve still got the product and licence number for your original product. I suspect what’s happened is you’ve downloaded a more recent version or a non-Canadian version of the program, which is why it’s rejecting your numbers.
